HAPPY NATIONAL PRINCIPALS MONTH!

October gives us a special opportunity to celebrate the school leaders who set the tone, support their teachers and staff, encourage their students and help make each of our schools a place where kids can learn and grow.

Throughout the month, our schools will be sharing a little more about the principals who lead them each day.

We’re grateful for their leadership, their steady presence and the many ways they serve our students, families and school communities.

Mrs. Glassner's Social Studies classes have been learning about the Constitution and have completed We the People, the Story of our Constitution.
To go further, we read We the Kids, which is a story about the Preamble of the Constitution. Then, small groups were given a part of the preamble, where they illustrated and explained what each part meant in their own words.

Hi Shadeville Families! We are excited to participate in Rock Your School the week of October 5th-9th. We are going to have themed dress up days every day and we encourage the students to participate. These themes were inspired by our community project that our Junior Optimist Club is leading. During the week, we are going to be collecting items for TMH's Pediatric Unit. Each item earns your student's homeroom a point. The winning class for each grade level will get a prize! Let's get ready to ROCK SHADEVILLE!

Our Shadeville Warriors have been celebrating Arts in Education Week! Our students have been creating and moving to music in their musical pirate adventures! Our fourth graders have been working on identifying musical form and keeping a steady beat with pool noodles! Our third graders have been learning about instrument etiquette & technique and the 12-bar blues! We also got to bring out the stretchy band to move to music and learn about form! Second grade has been working on keeping a steady beat with body percussion and developing our singing voices! In Art, our students have been getting creative with watercolor paintings and celebrating International Dot Day! Each student was assigned a color and used it to design their own unique dot using a paper plate. We love seeing how differently each student can express their creativity with the same color! The music and art rooms have been excited to welcome back these awesome young artists and musicians!

❤️🤍💙 Remembering September 11th in Mrs. Testerman’s Class

Mrs. Testerman’s class took time to learn about September 11th and Patriot Day through a meaningful read-aloud. As we read, students focused on the author’s purpose and discussed why the author chose to share this important story.

Following the read-aloud, students worked together in small groups to discuss what it means to be a patriot and identify the patriots they see in their own lives. They then drew and wrote about those special people on leaves to help us build our very own Patriot Tree.

It was a beautiful reminder that being a patriot can look many different ways—and that heroes and patriots are all around us every day.

We remember. We honor. We learn.❤️🤍💙

Internet service has been restored across Wakulla County Schools. Our IT Department continues troubleshooting remaining issues, and some users may experience intermittent internet disruptions while that work is ongoing.

Regular district and school phone lines are still not operational. Families should continue using the temporary phone numbers previously provided or contact their school-based administrator or identified point of contact by email.

Families needing Transportation assistance may call 850-926-5750 or email scott.payne@wcsb.us.

We would like families to know that the disruption was caused by a failure of the district’s main network switch. As our IT team worked to restore service, additional configuration issues delayed the return to full and stable connectivity. District data and systems remained secure throughout the outage.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as our IT team continues working toward full and reliable restoration of all services. We will share updates as additional progress is made.
